Hi. My name is Manju: welcome to my blog. I am a scientist by training. I have a degree in medical science, a PhD and a diploma in medical toxicology and I have worked in drug research and development and latterly in registering medicines. In 2012 I gave up work to be a stay at home mum, and enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. We live in Cumbria in the UK (also known as the Lake District).
I started seriously trying to learn about dressmaking in 2011, and have been addicted since then. My favourite item to make is probably outerwear. I love to make coats and jackets for all the seasons we experience in this part of the world and outerwear making is definitely something which helps you to hone your sewing skills.
Currently, I have a Janome sewing machine (Memory Craft 4900) and Janome overlocker (8002D). I highly recommend both. Whilst I do occassionally make things for my husband and daughter (who pop up on this blog from time to time), please note that I do not sew things for other people at this time. Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog. I hope you enjoy it!
